Review by hotel critic
Nestled in the scenic beauty of Longlands Park, the Ennerdale provides a comfortable base for those exploring the area. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a warm demeanor from the staff, a true asset to the hospitality experience. Although some might describe the hotel as 'tired,' we appreciated its cozy aesthetic and lived-in charm. Our room was well laid out with a quirky entry-a small flight of stairs leading to a spacious bedroom that featured a comfortable large bed. The bathroom was equipped with excellent water pressure, which is always a bonus after a day of indulging in local landscapes. The heating was sufficient for colder evenings, and the tea and coffee facilities were a nice touch for a nightcap. Dining was a highlight, with half-board service offered right to our room-ideal for traveling with a baby. The food was well-prepared and presented, offering a pleasant culinary experience. Guests with pets will find the Ennerdale accommodating, as we enjoyed morning walks in the nearby gardens. While it doesn't define luxury, the value is evident in the combination of comfort, location, and attentive service-making it a choice worth considering for your travels.
